IPL 2020 SWOT Analysis: Will a change of world bring a change of luck to Kohli's RCB?
The RCB, the franchise representing IT Capital of India and the ‘Garden City’ of Bengaluru, as well as the Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Capitals are the parties that have not won the IPL trophy in the last 12 years. The franchise shows have contributed to a lot of social media jokes. This is despite the fact that the Bengaluru-based league sees the likes of Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Ross Taylor, Kevin Pietersen, Jacques Kallis, Zaheer Khan, Mark Boucher, Chris Gayle, Daniel Vettori, Muttiah Muralitharan, Mitchell Starc and Yuvraj Singh donating their jerseys. Even some of the current players like Manish Pandey and Mayank Aggarwal have made their transition from the Karnataka Ranji team to world cricket through RCB.

Despite having a lovely, hot Bangaluru crowd that turns Chinnaswamy into a hate-filled hotspot with modern-day legends such as Dale Steyn, AB De Villiers, Moeen Ali and Virat Kohli, the team ended up with some embarrassing records such as the poor IPL match (released 82 against KR after being hit with a hammer by Brendon McCullum’s 73-ball 158) or earning a dubious record for the lowest numbers in the tournament (49 all came out with KKR, and while chasing a limited target of 132 runs in the 2017 race).
While the franchise is also known for being the strongest fighting force with the highest team under their name (263-5 against the Pune Warriors in the 2013 program), it is bowling that has been the Achilles' heel of the unit led by Kohli. In the 2020 edition, the team focused on building balance and depth of squad while recruiting players. They brought in South African players Chris Morris, Isuru Udana of Sri Lankan and Adam Zampa playing leg in the Aussie to strengthen their attack. The installation of T20 experts Aaron Finch and Joshua Philippe for now will give Kohli-De Villiers the most helpful hands in the strike department. Among the Indian names, the new feeling of Karnataka cricket Devdutt Padikkal, who was the top scorer in the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy, will be making his debut for the IPL.

Power
The job is also under Kohli-De Villiers:
The captain and his fellow South African criminal offenders have nearly 2,000 figures among them since 2017 after Chris Gayle left the fridge.
Kohli, who has more than 8000 T20 runs with his cat in more than 250 games (including 5412 runs in 177 IPL games and five hundred years), will be leading his team again with a bat in the UAE. While there may still be questions about his strike rate of less than 140 and the lack of 360 degree shots in his arsenal, unlike De Villers his excellent T20 form since 2019 (531 running in 12 innings on average 45) certainly give RCB fans reasons to hope he can repeat his 2016 dream, in which he scored 973 runs at an average of 81.08.
De Villers, on the other hand, was one of the IPL legends with 4395 runs in 154 games on average and 39.95 and 151.24 strikes respectively.
While his sharp playing skills and ability to play shorts throughout wicket gave him the kind of superhuman character, his vast experience also made him a valuable asset of leadership. Although RCB has fared poorly in the past two seasons, De Villiers' 942 run in 28 games has confirmed him to be one of the top 15 runners.
The arrival of Aaron Finch and Joshua Philippe at the top
One of the reasons for the RCB's failure since 2017 is the departure of Chris Gayle, with Kohli sitting in the middle. The franchise tried Quinton De Kock and Brendon McCullum without Gayle, but neither of them could have a big impact. At auction in late 2019, they received the services of Aussie duo Aaron Finch and Joshua Philippe. Finch, who also has the highest T20 points under his belt (63-ball 156 against England in 2013) will not only bring stability to the RCB batting order with his excellent play, but will also provide the firefire power franchise.
Joshua Philippe (also known as Josh Philippe) became the newest sensation in the Australian cricket circles with his impressive 2019-20 Big Bash League match against the Sydney Sixers, where he not only won a 29-ball 52 win over the Melbourne Stars in the final. reduced by rain but also lasted twenty-three and a half centuries in four innings. While his style of shooting is similar to that of ABD (360-degree rifle), his superpower strikes in powerplay overs have become the talk of the town, especially after six of his rivals during the tournament ended up on the SCG roof.
Devdutt Padikkal gives Kohli another option to look beyond Parthiv Patel as an opening option. While Patel, a 35-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman who opened the RCB innings since 2018, was not a game changer. The Indian veteran could have 2848 runs in 137 innings with a strike rate of 120.78, but has failed to replicate his successful CSK stamp with Mumbai and Bengaluru-base
